Whitewall tyres give a vehicle a distinctive, classic finish. Whether they are fitted to a restored cruiser, hot rod, custom build or everyday vehicle, keeping the white sidewalls clean helps the whole car look its best. At DB Customs & Whitewalling, we help drivers in Toolooa, Gladstone and the surrounding region care for their tyres and maintain a crisp, well-presented finish. Why do whitewall tyres turn yellow or brown? Whitewall tyres can discolour over time as they are exposed to brake dust, road grime, mud, UV, tyre-dressing residue and contaminants from the road. The rubber itself can also release protective compounds as it ages, which may leave a yellow or brown film on the white section. This does not always mean the tyre is unsafe, but it does mean it needs the right cleaning approach. The right way to clean whitewall tyres Start by rinsing the tyre to remove loose dirt and grit. Use a cleaner designed for tyres or whitewalls with a soft-to-medium tyre brush, working around the whitewall in small sections. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed rather than using excessive force. Avoid harsh solvents, abrasive pads, steel wool and household bleach. These products can damage the rubber, dull the whitewall or cause it to deteriorate prematurely. It is also important to keep strong cleaners off painted wheels and brake components where possible. Keep tyre shine off the whitewall Tyre shine can make the black sidewall look great, but it should be applied carefully. If dressing is spread across the whitewall, it can attract dirt and leave a yellowed or patchy appearance. Apply any tyre dressing sparingly to the black rubber only, using an applicator rather than spraying directly onto the tyre. Regular tyre checks matter too Appearance is only one part of tyre care. While cleaning your whitewalls, take the opportunity to check tyre pressure, tread wear, sidewall damage and any uneven wear patterns. Uneven wear may point to issues with wheel alignment, wheel balancing, suspension or steering components. At DB Customs & Whitewalling, we can inspect your tyres and wheels, assist with wheel alignment and balancing, and advise if your vehicle needs further attention. Keeping tyres correctly maintained helps improve safety, handling and tyre life. Professional whitewall tyre care in Toolooa If your whitewalls are heavily stained, ageing or no longer looking their best, professional advice can save time and prevent damage caused by unsuitable cleaning products. DB Customs & Whitewalling provides specialist vehicle care alongside tyre and wheel servicing, mechanical repairs and custom work. For whitewall tyre care, wheel services or a vehicle check, contact DB Customs & Whitewalling in Toolooa, conveniently located for drivers from Gladstone and nearby areas.

At DB Customs & Whitewalling, we’ve seen a surge in demand for Offroad Animal bull bars — and for good reason. Tough, stylish, and built for real off-road use, they’re one of the best upgrades you can give your 4WD. Recently, we fitted an Offroad Animal bull bar to a RAM 1500, and the results were nothing short of impressive. The Vehicle & Customer Goal Our customer wanted their RAM 1500 to look tougher while improving front-end protection for off-road adventures. They also wanted the setup to allow for a winch and extra lighting, without compromising factory features like sensors and cameras. The Offroad Animal Predator bull bar was the perfect choice — rugged, ADR-compliant, winch-ready, and finished in a sleek matte black powder coat that pairs perfectly with the RAM’s muscular styling.
